There has been numerous SG50 events and exhibitions all over the island as the much anticipated National Day is drawing near, both large and small scale ones.

One such interesting exhibition was the one we came across in Marina Square over the weekend.  From far, it was not hard to miss the rows of mannequin dressed non-fashionably right in the middle of the atrium.  One closer look, you might find some of these outfits familiar if you are “old” enough to have seen them before 🙂  This vintage parade is a showcase of past uniforms from the various organisations and bodies in Singapore back in the earlier days.

Can you spot which is which?

Everyone will be given a card to collect stamps from the various stations which involved either some activities/reading.  Once all the stamps are collected, it can be exchanged for a goodie bag which includes a little badge you see here.

And you get to take part in a lucky draw that can earn you exciting prizes! Not only does it takes little effort, you get to learn some very interesting facts about our tiny island!

At one of the station, you get to pen down your birthday greetings for Singapore and decorate it.  This was as far as our limited time and creativity got us that day…

SG50_3And after turning the corner to look at some of the other contributions (and some by really young kids), we really could hide our face in shame!

Before we left the place, we decided to do our part for charity and buy a RED DOT.  This reminds me that I haven’t put it up on my car yet!

SG50_5And here are the beneficieries from this donation drive.

SG50_6 If you happen to be in the area, hop over! It ends on 14 Jun (Sunday).
