Kotobuki may have been around in Singapore for more than three decades, we only lunched there for the first time recently at its latest addition at i12 Katong. We were pleased with the service, food and ambience and soon returned for another satisfying meal.
Twice there, we were ushered into a private room which was great as it has ample space for our stroller, bags and baby chair. With a baby in tow, it is always a relief to be able to have a meal without worrying about the stroller creating inconveniences to the service staff and other patrons. While the room is not sound proof (why would it be!), it does help to contain the noise level of my boys which can get really embarrassing at times, no matter how much I nag about observing good table manners.
Their menu offers quit a wide range of choices. Among the things we tried so far, here were the items that we liked so far. We will probably try out some others during our next lunch there.
The Sashimi Don was nicely presented and reasonable in portion. The sashimi was fresh and sweet with goodness.
This Yaki Ramen can be a comfort food for kids who love noodles as an alternative to the usual ramen or udon soup. It was seasoned slightly on the sweeter side and I guess that was probably why the boys loved it.
It is not easy to come across Kawa Ebi in most of the Japanese restaurants we patronise usually so it was a delight to find it here and an even greater delight to be eating these crispy little fellows. And of course it has to go with a nice cool beer!
You might also want to check out their party sets for that special occasion and also the wine/beer promotions they have periodically.
